USPA NEWS - Nigeria in Africa will host the 2018 Afreximbank Annual Meetings and the 25Th anniversary of the Financial Institution from July 11 to 14. Four days of two majors events that will gather together more than 2,500 business, government and international leaders from more than 60 countries. The Event will take place at Transcop Hilton in Abuja, under the patronage of his Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, president of Nigeria.
From July 9-11, 2018, Nigeria in Africa will host the 2018 Afreximbank Annual Meetings and the 25Th anniversary of the Financial Institution. Four days of two majors events that will gather together more than 2,500 business, government and international leaders from more than 60 countries.The Events will take place at Transcop Hilton in Abuja,under the patronage of his Excellency Muhammadu Buari,president of Nigeria.

The Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM) are the largest trade-focused event on the continent.With the overall theme of “˜´Celebrating the past: Shaping the future´´, this milestone event will bring together some 2,500 business, government and international leaders from more than 60 countries to shape the future of Africa´s trade development.
Celebrating the bank´s quarter of a century - 25 years where Afreximbank has been at the forefront of promoting trade in Africa - it will mark the bank´s pioneering work and discuss the future transformation of trade and economic development across the continent, including the impact of the recently announced African Continental Free Trade Agreement. According to World Trade Organisation estimates, Africa is the second fastest growing region with overall African trade growing by 2.1 percent in 2017. Intra-regional trade is very important to the continent; in 2017 intra-African trade grew by 8.8 percent.

With a population of 1.2 billion, Africa offers one of the biggest markets for trade and investment. The two events will feature a series of seminars exploring various aspects of trade and economic development and looking at the transformation of African economies through trade. During these events, the Afreximbank Advisory Group on Trade Finance and Export Development in Africa will also take the opportunity to meet and discuss the future of Africa in term doing business. Other activities include an investment forum will be hosted by the Nigerian Government, a trade exhibition and formal celebration activities marking the Bank´s 25th Anniversary.
Entrepreneurs and former African Presidents and heads of State as well high-profile political and business leaders are expected to attend the events where they will be joined by the shareholders of the Bank.

Nigeria is looking to become a homecoming for Afreximbank by hosting these very important events. According to Kemi Adeosun, Minister of Finance, Nigeria felt highly honored at being considered to host the meeting and anniversary.
